October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and #JPSHealthNetwork is making an effort to uplift the voices of victims, advocates, and survivors. Did you know that one in three women and one in seven men have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) in their lifetime? IPV includes physical and emotional distress and may even result in death. Our team members are vowing to end domestic violence by participating in the #PutTheNailInIt campaign. We encourage you to paint your ring fingernail purple and show your support for #DVAM, too! 💜

“No matter what age you are, you are not invincible. The more we can spread awareness of cancer and genetic testing, the earlier we can diagnose, and people can begin their fight. Awareness and education are saving lives, and I want to be a part of that,” Faith Barber, JPS Health Network patient. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the United States, affecting over 300,000 people per year. Through education, we can be sure that these individuals receive care and treatment options. Their vital role is crucial to improving the overall health of our diverse, multilingual community. Thank you for ensuring that language is never a barrier to quality healthcare! 💙

At #JPSHealthNetwork, we proudly celebrate the diverse heritage of our team members, patients, and community. Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month allows us to honor the rich history and contributions of Hispanic individuals in our community. "Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month is very meaningful to me. I take pride in seeing our culture embraced and diversity celebrated at JPS. My heritage and traditions are deeply rooted in who I am, and I am truly proud of them. It feels wonderful to have my heritage acknowledged, and I am grateful for the opportunities provided for Latinos at JPS. I know our patients are delighted to see such diversity among the staff." – Maria Trevino, Staff Assistant, Transportation
