"Soaring costs of in-home care, medical advances that extend lives but require ongoing help, and the growing ranks of older baby boomers are creating new pressures. Spouses, adult children and siblings are putting their lives on hold to care for relatives, wrestling with sleep deprivation and constant worry." Our society faces a long term structural challenge in how our loved ones get the support they deserve, and we're proud to be part of the solution.

Our Founder and CEO Max Mayblum sat down with Paula Cunningham, of our investor AARP to talk about how the paradigm is shifting for family caregivers, and the role that Givers is playing in hiring, supporting, and paying them.

Emory University spotlighted Emory University - Goizueta Business School alum and Givers Founder & CEO Max Mayblum's entrepreneurial journey, the Givers mission, and how our team obsesses over the problem we are solving. There are roughly 53 million Americans caring for parents, siblings, children, friends, or other family members...[Mayblum] explains government websites can be hard to navigate, the insurance portals are clunky, and several systems operate independently of one another. It’s no wonder families find the matter overwhelming. “We know that caring itself isn’t the burden–It’s all the other stuff.”

It's been said that a good measure of a society is how it treats its vulnerable. Stories like these are an all-too-common indicator of the need for change in the landscape of caregiving. The math is simple here: - The population over 65 is in the midst of doubling - Chronic conditions are on the rise - In-home care is expensive and hard to find - Living facilities are cost prohibitive and undesirable But this cannot be diminished to a numbers problem. Real people everyday are making difficult decisions about if they can go to work, or school, or need to stay home to care for a loved one.
