With Verifiable Credentials (VCs), jobseekers can own and control their professional and educational records, transforming how skills are shared with potential employers. At JFFLabs, we’re at the forefront of demonstrating how VCs in digital wallets can unlock new opportunities for economic mobility. Through our collaboration with the W3C vc-edu working group and partners like Digital Credentials Consortium, we’ve demonstrated the full potential of this technology. From issuing credentials to verifying them in real-world job searches, VCs provide transparency, trust, and flexibility for all stakeholders. Learn more about the future of digital credentials and how they are shaping tomorrow’s workforce. https://hubs.la/Q02T4r630 | #FutureofWork #VerifiableCredentials

For the over 200 million Americans living paycheck to paycheck, financial stress is an all-too-common reality. This burden is often heavier for the nearly 25 million households that are unbanked or underbanked. At JFF, we believe that personal financial success means more than just covering basic needs—it’s about freedom from debt, supporting loved ones, and building intergenerational wealth. As one participant shared, “[Financial success means] mental relief...so I can wake up every day not having to check my balance or use a credit card.” Explore insights from our focus groups to learn how workers and learners are redefining financial success and what they need to thrive. #PersonalFinancialSuccess https://hubs.la/Q02T0TMY0

To bridge the #digitaldivide, policymakers must support the digital tools, skills training, and support programs that learners and workers need to secure quality jobs. According to our new survey of registered voters, 70% say they want the next president to expand access to digital skills training. In September, JFF asked voters how important it is for them that the next president take action on key education, employment, and economic issues within his or her first 100 days in office. The results were clear: 81% of Democrats, 60% of Republicans, and 66% of Independents said they want the next presidential administration to create training programs that equip people with the digital skills they need to work in tech-related fields. In honor of #DigitalInclusionWeek and with only 26 days left until #ElectionDay in November, JFF is proud to advocate for policies to modernize our workforce systems, empower people to thrive in the digital age, and ensure there are #NoDeadEnds on the path to economic advancement. Read the article to dive into two policies on which both parties should agree to give learners and workers the digital tools and training they need to succeed: the Immersive Technology for the American Workforce Act and the Digital Skills for Today’s Workforce Act ➡ https://hubs.la/Q02SY--G0 #DIW2024
