To advance as a more inclusive society, it’s imperative we look back in celebration of the landmark moments that are part of our heritage, reflecting upon past societal wins and collective wrongs, educating on the impact felt today, and making room for understanding and growth. Today, June 19th, marks the 159th anniversary of Juneteenth—the oldest known commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. Celebrating the Juneteenth holiday alone is not enough to create fundamental change, but it can foster education and awareness and propel us to consider how we create truly inclusive and equitable cultures. It serves as a moment of reflection, as well as celebration, and a moment to consider the work ahead that is needed to build equitable and inclusive cultures for our Black colleagues. To further empower both companies and individuals in their commitment to supporting Black employees not only on Juneteenth but every day, we invited you to download, read, and share our resource How to Support Black Employees on Juneteenth and Every Other Day of the Year. https://lnkd.in/e5R4e2M5 #Juneteenth #DEI #InclusiveOrganizations #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #InclusiveLeadership

Over our nearly 20-year existence, we are so proud of how JBC has worked with thousands of clients across every industry, and every size, to design best-in-class workplace strategies that drive more inclusive cultures where everyone can thrive. And as our field evolves, the key tenets of DEI must be more deeply embedded in every possible domain within business and leadership, so that its principles and practices can reach a broader set of potential allies and advocates - that next generation who will drive healthy workplaces long after our time. This has always been the vision of our founder, Jennifer Brown - to enlist broader participation and drive behavior change throughout organizations, and to prepare and equip leaders with concrete tools to inspire and lead this change. It’s with this opportunity in mind that we’re excited to announce the uniting of the JBC consulting practice with the mission-driven consulting firm, changeforce, a tech-enabled management consulting company with a sensational and broad team of domain experts pursuing a more inclusive future of work. At the same time, changeforce has acquired Mathison, a leading DEI tech software that will augment the combined offerings with a data-driven platform to manage and track DEI efforts, goals, and education. This new combination of these three organizations now enables us to offer the most robust end-to-end consulting and technology platform for DEI in the market, with the vision of helping organizations solve their biggest DEI challenges through an integrated approach. Key leaders driving this effort will include Jennifer Brown, Robert Haddow Beaven, Dr. Nabeel Ahmad, with Arthur Woods as an advisor. Jennifer is still speaking frequently on inclusive leadership in the US and globally, sharing her latest thought leadership and best-selling book, How to be an Inclusive Leader (https://lnkd.in/eNdRubvJ), and supporting early-stage thought leaders through her coaching work. More info on her work can be found here: https://lnkd.in/e4VqE8Z7. If you’d like to explore how we can support your DEI organizational goals, please contact Robert Beaven, at [email protected]

"Leaders at many levels may feel challenged in building cultures of belonging where more talent can truly thrive. Our inability to create psychological safety across the many differences in the workplace today (diversity, hybrid teams) can stem from our generational norms, previous experiences, and other biases we carry. But the good news is that belonging can be built, as a leadership practice and discipline. Indeed, an environment of belonging is expected for the incoming generation of talent.” - Jennifer Brown, CEO of Jennifer Brown Consulting, and author of How to Be an Inclusive Leader 9 Ways Leaders Can Build A Culture Of Belonging https://lnkd.in/eZa47zfW
