Go Tecovas!!!
Nine years in, Tecovas has BIG plans to become more than just about cowboy boots. “Initially, it sort of was known as the Warby Parker of cowboy boots, if you will,” said CEO David Lafitte on the Modern Retail Podcast. “We’ve tried to sort of migrate the positioning of the brand into more of a premium lifestyle brand.” So, how? On the podcast, Lafitte explained that this includes expanding the brand’s apparel line as well as growing its retail footprint. By 2023, the brand had 33 locations and is on track to open 11 stores this year, including in new areas that aren’t necessarily associated with Western culture, like in Boston. Today at Jennifer Bett Communications, we announced some news that's been 127 years (yes, seriously) in the making. Filson, the iconic outdoor brand, just launched its first collection for women. While women have always worn Filson, this is the first time the brand has designed a full collection (32 pieces!) exclusively for women. The story came out today, and it was definitely worth the wait! URBN (Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie Group, Free People & Nuuly)'s Nuuly is profiting in the competitive clothing rental market, thanks to its innovative automation and logistics. And in this new piece, President & CTO David Hayne credits their streamlined system for keeping costs down despite the labor-intensive cleaning and repair process.
