JB&B Project News: Facade installation is underway at 335 Eighth Avenue, Chelsea, Manhattan. This seven-story residential building is designed to Passive House standards and will cover 200,000 square feet and include 188 rental units, with 30% designated as affordable housing. Developed by MAG Partners LP and Mutual Redevelopment Houses, Inc., the project was designed by COOKFOX Architects and JB&B provided the MEP/FP/IT/SEC/AV/DCRG/Energy Modeling/Cx services. In the latest issue of Engineering News-Record New York, JB&B Managing Partner Scott Frank discusses JB&B’s role in the design complexities involved in “determining a microclimate for both visitors and plantings” at Longwood Gardens – a project of 17 acres of reimagined indoor and outdoor spaces –along with the development of the building’s energy model with Atelier Ten. JB&B Project News: Construction is nearly topped out on 1345 Third Avenue, also known as the Victoria and Lloyd Goldman Health Care Pavilion. Designed by Ennead Architects with EwingCole and developed by Northwell Health, this 15-story medical facility will stand nearly 215 feet tall and cover 200,000 square feet. JB&B is the engineer for this project, focusing on MEP/FP, energy modeling, and deep carbon reduction. The project is set for completion in 2026. Read more below.
