Jackson Family Wines, based in Sonoma County – in the heart of California’s wine country – is one of the few family-owned and operated winery groups of its kind. Founded in 1983 with a focus on artisanal wines of distinct character and quality, Jackson Family Wines’ portfolio of wineries includes Kendall-Jackson, La Crema, Freemark Abbey, Murphy-Goode, Stonestreet, Matanzas Creek and Cambria (plus many more!), as well as a collection of luxury wineries such as Cardinale, Lokoya and Verite. Today, the Jackson family carries the formidable legacy of founder Jess Jackson forward to the next generation. We continue to embed our core values of land stewardship, inspired winemaking and a respect for wine at the table into the company’s local and worldwide practices. All of JFW’s wineries reflect a unique quality story steeped in extraordinary vineyards, remarkable artisan winemaking and the dedication of hard working, talented individuals. This philosophy is often called sustainability, but for us it’s all about providing environmental, social and economic benefits that our family, employees and community can all share – now and in the future. 2015 North Bay Business Journal's Best Places to Work Winner!

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on Lupe Valencia, our amazing Vineyard Director, who has been a part of Jackson Family Wines family for an incredible 25 years! Originally from Jalisco, Mexico, Lupe oversees the stunning Sonoma Coast, Bennett Valley, and Russian River vineyards, where his passion for the land and people truly stands out. Lupe loves exploring our beautiful vineyards, staying connected with his team, and helping others grow and thrive within Jackson Family Wines. When he’s not guiding the team, you’ll find him spending quality time with his family, cheering on his sons at soccer tournaments, or enjoying scenic bike rides. As for his favorite wines? Stonestreet Cabernet Sauvignon and Copain Pinot Noir—a true testament to his love for the vineyards he tends. Let’s raise a glass to Lupe and his unwavering dedication! 🍷✨

At Jackson Family Wines, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. This year, we had the privilege of participating in New York Climate Week, one of the largest events dedicated to climate action. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with other sustainability leaders, deepen our understanding, and share our story. We were especially honored to attend a special media luncheon with International Wineries for Climate Action to celebrate the past five years since we co-founded the organization with the Torres Family to drive the global wine industry toward decarbonization. Our Kendall-Jackson and Cambria wines were also served at a special event, highlighting how California agriculture plays a crucial role in climate solutions through sustainable practices and regenerative farming. Together, we’re shaping a greener future for the wine industry. 🌱🍷

We are delighted to announce Giant Steps Winery has been named Winery of the Year by James Halliday, the leading authority on Australian Wine, at the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion Awards, with its Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023 winning Best Pinot Noir for the second consecutive year. General Manager and Head Winemaker Melanie Chester shared, "It’s really wonderful to see the dedication and hard work of our entire Giant Steps team acknowledged in such a profound way. Giant Steps has always had an unwavering commitment to creating high-quality wines that tell the stories of our sites, which we see as some of the most exciting vineyards in the country. It was a real thrill to see our winery next to the list of nominees, and now to stand among the past winners feels like a recognition of the consistency and quality that we work hard to produce. Both the Winery of the Year and Best Pinot Noir awards represent the collective effort and dedication from our team to keep improving and increasing the quality of the grapes we grow and the wines we bottle each year. I am proud to work with such a talented and devoted group of people and look forward to honoring them while celebrating these awards.”
