"Take care of the land and it will take care of you." - Jess Jackson

About us

Jackson Family Wines, based in Sonoma County – in the heart of California’s wine country – is one of the few family-owned and operated winery groups of its kind. Founded in 1983 with a focus on artisanal wines of distinct character and quality, Jackson Family Wines’ portfolio of wineries includes Kendall-Jackson, La Crema, Freemark Abbey, Murphy-Goode, Stonestreet, Matanzas Creek and Cambria (plus many more!), as well as a collection of luxury wineries such as Cardinale, Lokoya and Verite. Today, the Jackson family carries the formidable legacy of founder Jess Jackson forward to the next generation. We continue to embed our core values of land stewardship, inspired winemaking and a respect for wine at the table into the company’s local and worldwide practices. All of JFW’s wineries reflect a unique quality story steeped in extraordinary vineyards, remarkable artisan winemaking and the dedication of hard working, talented individuals. This philosophy is often called sustainability, but for us it’s all about providing environmental, social and economic benefits that our family, employees and community can all share – now and in the future. 2015 North Bay Business Journal's Best Places to Work Winner!

We are delighted to announce Giant Steps Winery has been named Winery of the Year by James Halliday, the leading authority on Australian Wine, at the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion Awards, with its Applejack Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023 winning Best Pinot Noir for the second consecutive year. General Manager and Head Winemaker Melanie Chester shared, "It’s really wonderful to see the dedication and hard work of our entire Giant Steps team acknowledged in such a profound way. Giant Steps has always had an unwavering commitment to creating high-quality wines that tell the stories of our sites, which we see as some of the most exciting vineyards in the country. It was a real thrill to see our winery next to the list of nominees, and now to stand among the past winners feels like a recognition of the consistency and quality that we work hard to produce. Both the Winery of the Year and Best Pinot Noir awards represent the collective effort and dedication from our team to keep improving and increasing the quality of the grapes we grow and the wines we bottle each year. I am proud to work with such a talented and devoted group of people and look forward to honoring them while celebrating these awards.”

My fiancé Ross Camp wrote a beautiful and personal piece for his company’s blog for Pride month. Neither of us take for granted how fortunate it is to work for employers who value all of who we are. While many companies are cynically dismantling DEI initiatives across the country, ours are ramping up! Look- I even proposed to Ross wearing my DEI jacket! Here’s to love and progress in the workplace! Commvault Jackson Family Wines

I used to hide my sexuality at work. I vividly remember hearing disparaging comments from management about #gay people that were paralyzing to the core. So, when my current employer, Commvault, asked me to author a blog for #PRIDE, I immediately said yes. At Commvault, my relationship with Jeffrey Braverman is not only accepted but celebrated. That's how it should be. If you'd like to read my blog on the company's website, please click here: https://lnkd.in/gwRDyPkF.

🌟 Employee Spotlight 🌟 Meet Trey Christy, our Brand Manager for Vérité Estate and Anakota! With over 20 years of wine industry experience, Trey’s journey began with the Houston Grand Opera, where he played the viola. His passion for fine wine led him to train as a Sommelier in 2003, eventually earning the title of Advanced Sommelier. Trey joined Jackson Family Wines in 2011 with the Spire Collection, a role that brought him to Sonoma County, where he delved into Sales Management, Marketing, and expanded his wine expertise. At Vérité, Trey thrives on sharing the extraordinary story of our vineyards and winemaking. He loves the structure, balance, and complexity that Vérité wines develop over many years of aging, making his go-to choice the oldest bottle of Vérité available! Cheers to Trey and his remarkable journey in the wine world!
