Attention Mid-Career Partners Although summer is winding down and it may feel like work is in a lull until after Labor Day, this actually is a great time to connect with your team and send some positive energy their way. If you’re in the office, taking the team out for drinks or a lunch is a great way to strengthen relationships heading into the busy season of the fall. For those not in the office, sending out a nice email to inspire and reenergize the team is a great approach. It’s the perfect strategy to get everyone on the same page as summer winds down and everyone hits the ground running as autumn arrives. #legal #lawfirm #attorney #lawyer

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work With the Olympics in full swing, the teamwork that is on display from the world class athletes can serve as an inspiration to us in our personal and professional lives. If your team is made up of great people from all four generations who communicate effectively and have accountability to each other and themselves individually, you’ll be in the best possible situation to succeed. It’s true that each generation may have its own expectation on how and where work gets done. But as long as everyone is communicating effectively and leaders are clear in what the expectations of the team are, you’ll be completing client tasks, interacting with various departments and building a happier and stronger team in the long run. Although the teamwork displayed in the Olympics comes to fruition every four years, remember that behind the scenes they have been working day in and day out to showcase their incredible talents. The same rings true for your work team. Teamwork skills need to be fine tuned each and every day to keep moving along the road to success. #teamwork #lawyer #attorney #legal #lawfirm

Return to Work vs Hybrid - It’s About Productivity As the issue of return to work vs hybrid continues to evolve in Corporate America and in law firms in particular, there’s one theme that is coming into focus: it’s all about productivity. Employers and their managers are redefining what productivity looks like and how it’s measured in a work environment where they don’t physically see their employees every day. The key to overcoming this hurdle is transparency, open communication and accountability between the employer and their employees. Expectations need to be clearly conveyed by employers so employees know what is expected of them. On the flip side, employees need to hold themselves accountable to these expectations and standards. Return to work is not officially dead, but the conversation about how work gets done in today’s world continues to undergo a metamorphosis and it isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ type of discussion. We want to hear from you, what’s your company’s work policy? Are you in the office full time, fully remote, or work on a hybrid schedule? And how do you feel about your company’s work policy? Do you agree with it? Do you feel you and your colleagues are as productive as you can be? What are the challenges and obstacles? What are the benefits and pros to your work arrangement? Leave a comment below! #returntowork #hybridwork #remotework #legal #lawyer #attorney #lawfirm

This week on The JSA Blog, we’re sharing some news based on what we are seeing in the current marketplace. Recent studies and surveys show that up to 70% of employees feel that learning and development in their organization has room for improvement. Furthermore, these same employees would prefer to “upskill” and take on a new role or additional responsibilities at their current company as opposed to seeking a new job elsewhere.
