One of the coolest things about Wonderblock is its unique foundation, down on Phase 2 we have geopiers beneath all of our footings that are then fully waterproofed and connect to each other beneath the slab, essentially creating a boat beneath the project. It even wraps around the exterior foundation walls! The geo piers' function is to create added stability in the footings and to mitigate differential settlement so that the waterproofing material won't tear. It's a concrete submarine! If you look closely at this picture, you'll see the crew installing geo piers, the waterproofing surrounding the poured footings, and a concrete pour running all at the same time! Mind our dust because we're quite busy!
