Its here it's here it's here it's here!! Rad and unexpected thing happened today. I got a notification that a box was waiting at the post. I hopped on my Tern Bicycles GSD to retrieve it. I knew immediately what was inside. Never in a million years did I think I would be holding a book I wrote. It's an incredible feeling, and it is quite surreal. Thanks to Island Press, and especially my (very patient!) editor Heather Boyer. Thanks to Alex Steffen, Dave Roberts at Volts, and Carlos Moreno for the incredibly kind words. It's my hope that this book starts to lay the foundations for fixing so many flaws in how we think about, plan, and build cities and neighborhoods... That it helps planners and politicians realize that friendlier, healthier, and more sustainable cities and neighborhoods are not just possible - but an imperative. That in doing so - we will see places that prioritize #publichealth, #climateaction and #adaptation, #affordability, #livability - and most importantly - people. 'Building for People' is available for pre-order, and ships 12 December: https://lnkd.in/gNWCSvRE #citiesforpeople #buildingforpeople #stadtplanung #livablecities #urbanplanning #architecture #decarbonization #openbuilding #masstimber #decarbonization
