Our new downtown Oklahoma City banking center is now open! Located on the first floor of Leadership Square’s south tower, it will serve as a centralized location for our Oklahoma commercial and treasury management team. “This new location in the vibrant downtown area will make all our business experts available in one place,” said Tom O'Keefe, market president. “We’ve served the metro area for more than 30 years, and this location will allow our team to continue serving this community for decades to come.” The 7,500-square-foot banking center marks our seventh OKC metro area location, with additional banking centers in Edmond, Moore, Mustang, Norman, and northwest Oklahoma City.

René White, our managing director of human resources, started volunteering for Meals on Wheels in 1993. One of her favorite memories is of a man in his 90s who lived alone in the home he’d shared with his late wife. “I delivered evening meals and always saved his for last because he would invite me in, and I would often spend up to an hour chatting with him,” she recalls. “He would make me homemade lemonade or a pie, give me cuttings from his houseplants, and chat about his memories while he showed me his scrapbooks.” Meals on Wheels programs around the world serve as a critical lifeline for millions of seniors and individuals with disabilities who struggle with food insecurity and isolation. “For some, the meal you deliver may very well be their only one for the day,” says Daniel Littler, our managing director of business strategy, who is a three-year Meals on Wheels volunteer and a member of a committee that raises money for the program. “You may also be the only interaction each recipient has that day. Your simple knock at the door can brighten someone’s day.” Many of our employees use their paid volunteer time to deliver meals, but the program is always looking for additional drivers. If you’re interested in volunteering, contact Meals on Wheels at 316-267-0122 or fill out an online application at https://lnkd.in/gMPSi8tw.

Our internships are often niche, offering interns highly specialized experience. For Linh Lai, a recent Wichita State University graduate with a degree in finance and business analytics, it’s turned into a full-time position at INTRUST. “My internship has been incredibly rewarding, and I am so thankful to have been offered an opportunity to continue as a business improvement specialist,” she says. “Accepting this offer was an easy decision for me because of how much I’ve enjoyed my team and this internship.” Linh credits her mentor, Greg Trechak, business and systems process improvement supervisor, for having a positive and inspirational impact on her internship. She was able to shadow and contribute to several projects this summer, strengthening her understanding of banking and loan processes. One of her favorite experiences was working on the integration of several data systems. “The experience and knowledge I gained from working on projects with my team set a great foundation,” she says. Congratulations, Linh. We’re excited to see what the future holds for you at INTRUST!

If you ask employees from across our markets why they join Team INTRUST in the Wichita Corporate Challenge, you’ll likely hear, “I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone,” or “It allowed me to connect with employees from other departments that I don’t regularly interact with.” These answers are why we encourage our employees to participate if they want to — it’s collaborative, it’s fun, and it makes for great stories and memories that strengthen our working relationships. So far, we’ve competed in pickleball, disc golf, cornhole, track and field events, flag football, tennis, Esports - Rocket League, golf, mini golf, dodgeball, and basketball. Still to come are soccer, softball, 5k walk, trivia, and volleyball. We’re looking forward to the next several days of competition!

“I don’t know that I would have gone back if it wasn’t for that.” For Rosie Mosate, treasury services supervisor, tuition reimbursement provides a clear path forward personally and professionally. “I was an architecture major, and I thought it was going to be my path, but I didn’t enjoy it,” she says. After leaving school, Rosie started at INTRUST as a teller in 2018 in Lawrence. “I always just talked about going back to school, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do,” she says. “I had a good manager who told me about tuition reimbursement. I really liked banking, I liked the people aspect and the numbers. I decided I wanted to make it my career.” After earning promotions, and moving to Wichita to work in treasury, the topic came up again. “I brought it up with my new manager, but wondered if I could go to school and work at the same time,” she says. “They said ‘we’re going to make it happen’. Everyone has made it a point to support me.” Rosie is now in a supervisory role and will start her last year at Wichita State University as a business administration major. “Tuition reimbursement has made it really accessible,” she says. “It helped quell any fears I had about focusing on work and school.”
