🚀 This month, the Aksarben Foundation hosted two amazing events at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska at Omaha in collaboration with the Peter Kiewit Foundation Engineering Academy! 🙌 During the panels, experts shared invaluable insights on key topics like networking, standing out as an intern, building meaningful connections, and speaking up when something isn’t right. Following the panel discussions, students participated in small group rotations, gaining deeper knowledge and asking in-depth questions about internships and professional growth. 💡 These events are important because they allow students to connect with industry leaders and learn to overcome barriers while finding their voice and confidence to excel in their academic and professional journeys. 🎓✨ A huge thank you to the company representatives from Nebraska Tech Collaborative partner organizations and the internNE, Powered by Aksarben from across Omaha and Lincoln for dedicating their time and expertise to connect with students in tech and engineering pathways! Special thanks to the Peter Kiewit Foundation Engineering Academy for their partnership with the Aksarben Foundation through internNE, Powered by Aksarben and the Nebraska Tech Collaborative. Together, we’re helping shape the future of Nebraska’s workforce! 🔗🤝

Executive Director for two Aksarben Foundation initiatives including the Nebraska Tech Collaborative and internNE, Powered by Aksarben
There are countless opportunities to support Nebraska’s talent development and retention goals. When we collaborate in meaningful ways, we can drive high-impact outcomes that benefit everyone. I had the opportunity to catch up with Merrick Brtek, Director of Young Professionals & Talent Development Programs at the Greater Omaha Chamber, and Kaylie Hogan-Schnittker, Director of Talent Strategy at the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED), representatives from two of our strategic partners for internNE, Powered by Aksarben, a collaboration between the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and our team at the Aksarben Foundation. We visited about the great work they’re leading in their respective communities to connect with and engage young professionals in meaningful ways to support Nebraska’s talent retention efforts. I also visited with Elliott Cain, the Registered Apprenticeships Programs lead for the Nebraska Department of Labor about opportunities for employers to connect with training providers throughout Nebraska to offer placement and career advancement opportunities to new and existing staff in a variety of high wage, high skill, and high demand fields including those supported by the Nebraska Tech Collaborative.. Don’t miss the upcoming ELEVATE Youth Apprenticeships Summit hosted by Central Community College, Southeast Community College, and Northeast Community College in Kearney on November 19th: https://lnkd.in/gHRpHJaW Stay tuned for the release of these inspiring episodes and conversations! 📍Webberized Podcast Production
