The event highlighted the growing influence of women in the trades, backed by the transformative Infrastructure Bill. Leaders like Shauntelle Hollett and Lezlie Harris are blazing trails within the IUPAT, pushing the union to its bold goal: 20% women by 2029. We’re excited to welcome a new member of Boston Painters IUPAT Local 939, Steven Irwin. Steven is the son of Tamara Doherty, a valued member of our union, and the grandson of Bill Doherty, who played a vital role in shaping Local 939 into what it is today.

At DC6, apprentices not only learn essential skills but also contribute to local projects supporting veterans, women’s shelters, and children’s charities. With Ohio's growing infrastructure demand, fueled by major projects from Amazon to Honda, IUPAT’s training centers in Cleveland, Toledo, Columbus, and Cincinnati are preparing workers to tackle the industry’s challenges. The work of our union is vital and it shapes the way our communities live. Big shout out to DC 16 Local 567 Volunteer Activists Committee (VAC) who spent their time on a Saturday working to ensure Reno’s waterways stay clean and free of pollution by marking over 50 storm drains that lead to wildlife habitats.
