Happy Manufacturing Day 2024! Manufacturing is defined by ingenuity and plays a critical role in the U.S. economy. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, manufacturing contributes $2.3 trillion to the U.S. GDP, employs 12 million people, and supports thousands of communities. It’s no wonder that manufacturing spans industries like aerospace, healthcare, and electronics and uses cutting-edge technology like artificial intelligence and 3D printing. Given its significance and range, it provides major opportunities for manufacturers to grow their businesses, support their communities, and drive the U.S. economy through exporting. The International Trade Administration is committed to supporting the manufacturing industry by providing export counseling services, working to strengthen supply chains and delivering data on manufacturing and trade.
