🤖 Künstliche Intelligenz: Bedrohung oder Chance in Sachen #Cybercrime? Diese Frage dominierte die ICCS - International Conference on Cyber Security, die gestern in der Fordham University in New York City zu Ende ging. Hier trafen sich auf Einladung des Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Vertreterinnen und Vertreter von Strafverfolgungsbehörden und (Sicherheits-)Wirtschaft aus aller Welt. 🦾 Für mich ist klar, dass sich die Potentiale Künstlicher Intelligenz sehr dynamisch entfalten. Bereits heute spielen die wachsenden Möglichkeiten, die bereits einfache #KI-Tools bieten, vor allem Cyberkriminellen in die Hände — etwa wenn es um überzeugendere #Deepfakes oder effektive #Phishing-Mails geht. Aber auch der Weg zu adaptiver #Malware, die selbstständig auf Sicherheitsmaßnahmen reagiert, scheint nicht mehr allzu weit. 🕵 Die digitalen Spuren, die Cyberkriminelle bei ihren Taten unweigerlich hinterlassen, sind regelmäßig internationale #Massendaten, deren #Analyse uns sehr schnell an Grenzen bringt. Hierbei könnte KI den weltweiten Strafverfolgungsbehörden noch große Dienste erweisen. Allerdings sind die Anwendungsgebiete derzeit noch deutlich limitiert. 👾 Deshalb wird es entscheidend sein, der wachsenden Asymmetrie der Möglichkeiten zwischen Tätern und Strafverfolgung politisch rechtzeitig und hinreichend zu begegnen. Qualität und Geschwindigkeit der krimininellen Aktivitäten nehmen deutlich zu, hier dürfen wir nicht den Anschluss verlieren. Die Diskussion hat gezeigt, dass auch die Regulierung von KI nicht nur in Europa ein großes Thema ist. Im Spannungsfeld von technischem Fortschritt, Sicherheit und gesellschaftlichen Kontrollbedürfnissen muss die richtige Balance gefunden werden. Wray, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and General Paul M. Nakasone, Director of the National Security Agency. They shared insights on the upcoming challenges and opportunities in the cyber world for 2024, with a particular focus on the trending topic of AI. #ICCS2024
