☀️ The Innoptus Solar Team is closing in on Victory in the Sasol Solar Challenge! Thanks to satellite connectivity powered by Intelsat, Kymeta Corporation, and ST Engineering iDirect, the team has been able to track weather predictions and stay connected with their convoy to make informed decisions, even in the most remote regions of the Kalahari Desert. In just 30 minutes, we created a custom dashboard using tailored metrics on Intelsat's Service Management Platform (SMP) to track the team's connectivity in real-time. This gives us full visibility into how the connection is performing during the Challenge.

Yesterday kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month! Intelsat is celebrating all month long by highlighting notable figures in STEM and some of our very own employees. But what is Hispanic Heritage Month? It is a dedicated period to celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Latino and Hispanic communities in the United States. The month, observed annually from September 15 to October 15, underscores the significant role Hispanic Americans have played in shaping the nation. It honors the diverse roots of American citizens whose ancestors come from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. #HHM #HHM24 #HispanicHeritageMonth

Yesterday, the Innoptus Solar Team took back the lead in the Sasol Solar Challenge 💪. As Day 3 came to an end, the team completed another short loop instead of heading to the evening stop, allowing them to complete 7.5 loops, covering 672.9 kilometers—putting them back in the lead and driving the largest distance ever in Sasol Solar Challenge history. Today, the team was challenged by a half blind stage in the race, where they tackled an unknown loop distance in Upington before continuing to Augrabies. The team is supported by Intelsat and our partners Kymeta Corporation and ST Engineering iDirect with reliable connectivity, enabling them to quickly adapt and navigate each stage of the challenge. Good luck to the team as they continue their race towards Cape Town!
