Dakota Gloria knows the risks that come with being an electrical lineman, but not even he could have anticipated coming into contact with a live wire. In November 2022, while working in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Dakota was almost electrocuted after touching a high-voltage live wire. Since the voltage was so high, it blew him off the wire instead of keeping him stuck, likely saving his life. After being airlifted to the Paul Silverstein Burn Center at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center, the doctors decided the best course of action was to amputate and do a nerve transfer. Dakota and his family will be honored at the Chickasaw Ballpark on Sept. 7. Jeff Kummer was an adult liver and kidney transplant patient who unfortunately passed away in 2015. Around his birthday, his parents, Greg and Kim Jehlik, have traveled from out of state the last nine years to visit anyone who cared for their son during his final years of life. They greeted the caregivers at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center and the INTEGRIS Health Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute with hugs and treats in honor of what would have been Jeff’s 45th birthday. They hope to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and acknowledge the exceptional medical care Jeff received at INTEGRIS Health.
