IICF leadership in action for #IICFMonthofGiving as IICF Midwest Board Chair Marcie Stephan rallied the Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Chicago team for a day of volunteering at Beyond Hunger. The BHSI Chicago team packed a week’s worth of groceries for distribution to 100 families the next day in the near west suburbs of Chicago as part of a pop-up food pantry, Despensa (pantry in Spanish). PropertyCasualty360 highlights how 'IICF, The Centers support early childhood education in Cleveland' in our annual #MonthofGiving article series: https://lnkd.in/g_HVwVu9 as #insurancegivesback "Today, Cleveland is considered the second poorest large city in the United States, having one of the lowest average household incomes resulting in inequitable access to available human services important in people leading meaningful and healthy lives," said James Forristell, Director, Corporate Development at The Centers for Families and Children. "For over 50 years, The Centers has been a community leader addressing the negative outcomes of poverty in the community. At The Centers, it is our mission to fight for equity by healing, teaching, and by inspiring individuals and families to reach their full potential." "Again this year, teams coordinated by the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) are volunteering at one of The Centers' six early learning locations by participating in daily classroom activities and reading to the students. When organizations like IICF visit The Centers on-site to meet and educate students, not only does their presence benefit the children, but that special assistance from external partners inspires both the teachers and parents as well. By focusing on core outcomes to improve the quality of education, IICF is joining The Centers to fight for equity that gives all Cleveland children the opportunity to reach their full potential." It's October which means it's Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Month of Giving! What better way to celebrate my birthday than to gather some great friends (and my mom!) to put together snack packs for youth experiencing homelessness. We delivered over 100 snack packs to My Friend's Place who, for the past 36 years, has been assisting and inspiring these young folks to build self-sufficient lives.
