A recent study led by Philip Empey, PharmD, PhD, associate director of pharmacogenomics at the Institute for Precision Medicine, suggests that a context-aware ChatGPT could be beneficial in pharmacies. Empey and his team utilized OpenAI’s GPT-4 to interpret #pharmacogenomic testing results and provide answers. The chatbot drew from the Clinical Pharmacogenomics Implementation Consortium’s prescribing guidelines and relevant literature, as reported by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The researchers observed strong performance after refining the tool to respect boundaries and emphasize evidence-based responses. However, they noted that more data is needed before it can be applied clinically. A collaboration between University of Pittsburgh #bioengineers and the company Actuated Medical, Inc. may bring us one step closer to measuring human brain activity more efficiently. Takashi Kozai, University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering, aims to improve the long-term performance of implanted electrodes and better integrate that technology with the human brain, potentially benefitting people with nervous system injuries. “These cells all play an important role in neural network activity that has been underappreciated both from a cell therapy perspective as well as with bio-inspired artificial intelligence," Kozai said. https://lnkd.in/g8aiJ5Pn #PrecisionMedicine #AI
