As #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth comes to an end, Election Day is upon us. This year's higher education bond will invest $73 million in a state-of-the-art cybersecurity building at Rhode Island College, which will serve as a permanent home for the Institute. This investment will help us train the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, upskill Rhode Island's workforce and provide important cybersecurity services to our communities.

When our devices, apps or software programs alert us that updates are available, it's an opportunity to better protect our data from cybercriminals. Updates close known security gaps and make our devices safer. Turn on automatic updates and check one thing off of your cyber to-do list.

The Institute's Dr. Timothy Henry will lead an eight-member academic team to support Governor McKee's AI Task Force, which Congressman Jim Langevin will chair. "For Rhode Island to become a leader in technology innovation, we must move forward with AI. However, we must also make certain we are aware of, and closely manage, the risks, as with any new technology," said Dr. Henry.
