It's always best to hear it from our customers and partners : “We sought an automated solution that can address 100% of the products..as a solution, we chose to go with Inspekto's system.” A challenge in quality control at ARAD GROUP resulted in the successful implementation of #INSPEKTOS70 for the inspection of water meter covers. Thanks to PlasticTime - Israeli Plastics Magazine, Noa Albocher, SU-PAD and ARAD GROUP for this spotlight and the great cooperation and to our own Noam Horovitz
More about the challenges and significance of this project :
"The trigger for the entire project comes from a challenge in quality control that has accompanied us for a long time," said Hagai Adar, Materials and Injection Technology Manager at ARAD GROUP. "The water meter covers we produce...require perfect transparency. Even a small defect or slight cloudiness disqualifies the product. This is not a parameter we can compromise on...We sought an automated solution that can address 100% of the products."
Quality tests for the transparency of the injected covers were previously conducted at Arad by quality inspectors, even though human eye struggles to reach the required level of accuracy. Machine operators and quality inspectors examined the covers under green light, from different angles, in an attempt to detect defects. This was only a prototype method, cumbersome and with inconsistent results.
"The systems need to account for background and light reflection, and not every system is suitable for that. Apart from that, in standard systems on the market, the setup between products is complex and generally requires our intervention, the automation supplier," explains Yoni Krispil, Sales Manager at SU-PAD. "As a solution, we chose to go with Inspekto's system, which comes with built-in lighting and a unique Anti-Reflection patent. It is capable of adapting itself to minimize reflections optimally. It is also characterized by the use of AI, which allows for simple setup for new products and test parameters." Inspekto, founded by Yonatan Hyatt in collaboration with Israeli and German partners, offers a unique solution in the industry suitable for testing a wide range of materials - plastics, composites and even metals and shiny and transparent surfaces with light reflection. Its core technology is the AMV-AI system consisting of three artificial intelligence mechanisms working together. The first mechanism dynamically adjusts the optical-electronic system according to the specific test. The second identifies the tested part and the third determines if it is faulty or not. The decision is made by comparing it to the tolerance range learned by the system autonomously during the initial installation. Throughout the process, the system continues to correct and adjust itself.
