From The Magnolia State to The Golden State! ☀️ America-class amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (#LHA7) and San Antonio-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Somerset (#LPD25), both built by Ingalls Shipbuilding, a Division of HII, transit underneath the Golden Gate Bridge in support of San Francisco Fleet Week 2024 on October 6. We're incredibly proud that our ships were part of the 43rd year of this time-honored sea service celebration and that the people of California's Bay Area were able to witness these manifestations of our shipbuilders' dedication to serving the sailors of the US Navy so they can serve our great nation. #FleetWeekSF 📸: U.S. Navy / MC1 Monford

On this day, we remember the 17 Sailors who lost their lives when the USS COLE DDG 67 was attacked on October 12, 2000. The ship sustained significant damage and was sent back to HII's #IngallsShipbuilding for repairs, where nearly a thousand shipbuilders went to work to return the ship to the fleet. As we think back on the ship’s legacy and strength, let it serve as a reminder of the pivotal role Ingalls shipbuilders have in protecting our country’s freedom. HII’s #IngallsShipbuilding division successfully launched the first LPD Flight II San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship Harrisburg (LPD 30), marking one of the first major milestones in the ship’s journey toward operational readiness. The launch of LPD 30 follows the recent announcement of the amphibious multi-ship procurement contract for the construction of three San Antonio-class (LPD 17) amphibious ships (LPD 33-35) and a contract modification for the next America-class (LHA 6) large-deck amphibious ship (LHA 10). Congrats, shipbuilders! Read the full release here: https://lnkd.in/eYdrN62V

#DDG129 is one step closer to completion! The mast is now in place for Jeremiah Denton (DDG 129). The mast for DDG 129 stands at 155 feet above the keel of the ship and is the last highest piece to be installed on the ship. The next major milestone will be when the ship is launched. The future USS Jeremiah Denton is the third Flight III destroyer to be constructed at Ingalls Shipbuilding, a Division of HII.
