About us

Since 1996, Infosys Foundation has been trying to make communities and individuals stand on their feet. From helping communities affected by natural disasters, constructing toilets and building libraries for village schools, providing succor to Devadasi women, to donating funds for cancer treatment, scientific research and mid-day meals – if there is a worthy cause in sight, the Foundation is always there to support it. We take great pride in working with all sections of society, selecting projects with infinite care, and working in areas that traditionally overlooked by society at large. With a focus on the most remote regions of India, our initiatives span the areas of education, rural development, healthcare, arts and culture, and destitute care.

The Institute of Social Obstetrics of the Government Kasturba Gandhi Maternity Hospital was inaugurated on August 7th, 2024, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, by Sports and Youth Welfare Minister of the state, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Health Minister of the state, Ma. Subramanian and Member of Lok Sabha, Dayanidhi Maran. #InfosysFoundation played a pivotal role, by providing over 100 types of medical equipment worth over 30 crores to Madras Medical College (MMC), benefiting this hospital, which falls under MMC. This investment aligns with our belief that healthcare should be accessible and affordable for all. By equipping this hospital, we're bridging the #healthcare divide and ensuring quality care. #InfosysCSR | #maternalhealth

The pursuit of #education is often hindered by factors beyond textbooks and classrooms. For many young girls, malnutrition is a silent adversary, keeping them from reaching their full potential. Arpan, our CSR group in Chandigarh, recognized this pressing issue and implemented a program to provide regular, nutritious meals to female students in class 9, at a government school in Haryana. We also partnered with the district authorities to conduct medical checks. In a similar exercise undertaken last year, over 250 students were benefitted, with noticeable improvements in energy levels and overall well-being. The dropout rate too plummeted, with an increase in engagement in both academics and extracurricular activities. Acknowledging this feat, the district authorities and school administrators encouraged our volunteers to expand the program to include students in class 10 as well. This program has now impacted over 500 students. At #InfosysFoundation, our aim is to empower female students, and Arpan is working tirelessly in this direction - helping provide students with opportunities that can amplify their potential. #InfosysCSR I #WomenEmpowerment I #Healthcare

In India, the availability of maternal and newborn healthcare services often presents challenges, especially in rural and underserved areas, where there is limited access to quality healthcare. To address this pressing issue, #InfosysFoundation has partnered with Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) to deploy innovative technology solutions in the southern state of Karnataka. The C-CAMP team is working with the Government of Karnataka and the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services to identify districts and beneficiary sites for deployment. Through Project Early Life, we aim to equip more than 85 public health facilities across the state, with technology-driven solutions like Saans, a respiratory support device and Fetal Lite, an AI-powered fetal heart rate monitor. These technologies will empower healthcare providers to monitor pregnancies more effectively, detect potential risks early, and provide timely interventions. By strengthening #healthcare infrastructure and training healthcare professionals, we're empowering them to save lives. Project Early Life will benefit over 50,000 pregnant women and 4,000-5,000 newborns, to create a healthier India, where every mother and newborn receive the care, they deserve. #InfosysCSR | #maternalhealth | #newbornhealth

The number of females enrolling in higher educational institutions has risen to over to 2.07 crore in 2021-22, in comparison to 1.74 crore in 2017-18. India’s college classrooms are brimming with potential, yet countless young females are left behind. Driven by the need to encourage female students to enroll in higher #education, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), introduced the Udaan platform for female students to enable their goal of joining reputed engineering institutions. By providing a free online platform, virtual contact classes, study material preloaded on a tablet for female students from grades 11 and 12, is a step towards fostering a more inclusive and equitable educational landscape. Mirroring the government's efforts to increase female representation in higher education, #InfosysFoundation launched the #STEM Stars Scholarship Program, for aspiring young women from marginalized backgrounds. This initiative aims to empower girls, by providing meritorious students with the financial support, mentorship, and resources they need to complete their undergraduate course and build successful careers in STEM. #InfosysCSR | #womenempowerment
