Original post below: ----- Great leaders change lives. I know this firsthand. I've been blessed to work for a few great leaders. Each one left a lasting impact on my career and life. They all shared some key traits: ➡️ They believed in me, even when I doubted myself. ➡️ They trusted me to do good work. ➡️ They challenged me to be my best. ➡️ They pushed me out of my comfort zone to grow. But one leader went above and beyond. He didn't just care about my work performance. He cared about me as a person. I was on a fitness journey, starting to run. When I mentioned completing my first 5K, he shared that he'd run 19 marathons. Then he made an incredible offer: If I trained for a half marathon, he'd run it with me. Anywhere. This was a stretch. A big one. But his belief in me was contagious. So I trained. Hard. And he kept his word. We met in Moab, Utah a few months later. He flew across the country on his own time and dime. That's more than leadership. That's investing in someone's life. Great leaders don't just manage employees. They grow people. They create other leaders. And they lead by example.
