Sometimes we also need a reminder about why we do any of this in the first place.

Bulletproof glass. Snipers. Panic buttons. No, this isn’t a war zone, but the reality of polling places in America leading to Election Day. It was a privilege to sit down with Senator Mark Warner for this piece, and also to speak with all the companies that are lending their services to help protect our country's election infrastructure. I had an interesting conversation with Pushly CEO Brendan Ripp last month about crap shows (aka the other word for crap). "What a terrible thing to waste," he said. Seriously! Essentially, mistakes are inevitable in work and life, but they don't have to be fatal. Sometimes it just takes a slight change in perspective--and perhaps a karaoke machine--to turn a disastrous situation into a lasting relationship. https://lnkd.in/e3QADc52

ICYMI, generations collided this week at L'eggs®. The hosiery company known for its egg-shaped packaging left its parent group Hanes after 55 years. Now it's set for a rebrand steered by Cami Téllez, the former founder of underwear company Parade. Only a few days in and the time-honored tights are already starting to look different with Gen Z creative direction. https://lnkd.in/eKN-z8PW

Job growth nearly stalled in October, but this wasn't a typical jobs report by any means. Employers added just 12,000 jobs in October, down significantly from the 254,000 initially added in September (revised down to 223,000 in this report) and down from even the 110,000 that economists predicted. But storms and strikes are complicating the true picture of the labor market, economists say. And they expect the Fed to recognize that. Read more about this latest report here at Inc.
