Places like Urban Autism Solutions' Growing Solutions Farm keep our communities thriving! This 1.2-acre urban produce farm in Chicago helps transitioning high school students with Autism build vocational skills through work experience. Students learn how to harvest and prepare food for sale at farm stands, restaurants and wholesalers. Proceeds from the Farm’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program are reinvested in the vocational program. As part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Treasurer Frerichs and the Illinois ABLE team visited to learn about the program and help with harvesting.
