Have you ever wondered who lights Terminal Tower or who decides what colors to display? The short answer is a guy with his cellphone. Ideastream Public Media's reporter Abbey Marshall met with Aaron Price, who works for K&D Management, a real estate agency that bought the building in 2016. He is one of a few people who have access to the smartphone app that controls hundreds of LED lights on the skyscraper's crown. Another special mention goes to Aidan Booker, who joins us as a fellow of the prestigious Gwen Ifill Fellowship Program, supported by PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs (SRL). This fellowship offers students of color the chance to gain hands-on experience at a local PBS station, honing their storytelling skills and exploring careers in journalism and media production. The #IdeastreamTeam is kicking off our week with a few phenomenal award wins. 🏆👇 This year, we were nominated for four regional Emmy awards. Congratulations to Jean-Marie Papoi and Dave DeOreo as they take home the Emmy for Arts/Entertainment - News for "A forgotten children's book by Langston Hughes and Elmer W. Brown emerges in Cleveland" (🔗 https://lnkd.in/g8Ukae5X). Also, a round of applause to Mark A. Rosenberger, Ideastream's Chief Content Officer, for his induction into the Central Great Lakes chapter’s Gold and Silver Circle, recognizing his 35+ years of leadership in public television. Ideastream received two second-place honors in the national Public Media Journalists Association - PMJA competition. These winners include: the Sound of Ideas team under the Audience Engagement Program for “Community members shared their thoughts on State Issue 1 in recent 'Sound of Ideas Community Tour' forum" (🔗 https://lnkd.in/gzP9Av35), and honored for Digital Writing are Amy Eddings and the team for the project “Ohio After Roe " (🔗 https://lnkd.in/gej8PGZH).
