In part two of our series recognizing #HispanicHeritageMonth, explore how the five nonprofits below are advocating for Hispanic communities and making positive change across the social-impact sector. 🧡 Hispanic Society Museum and Library The Hispanic Society Museum & Library was founded in New York City in 1904 by Archer M. Huntington with the purpose of advancing the study and appreciation of the art, literature, and culture of Spain, Portugal, Latin America, and the Philippines. Today, the museum and library collections from antiquity through the early 20th century are widely recognized as the most comprehensive in scope and quality outside of Spain. 🧡 Hispanics in Philanthropy HIP is a transnational network of grantmakers committed to strengthening Latino communities across the Americas. This nonprofit connects and convenes funders, nonprofits, researchers, and other leaders to identify emerging needs among Latinos as well as best practices for responsive and effective funding of social change. 🧡 Hispanic Access Foundation Founded in 2010, HAF is a national nonprofit organization that connects Latinos with partners and opportunities to improve their lives and create an equitable society. Ultimately, they establish bridges of access that provide a path for the development and rise of Latino leaders and elevates their voices in areas where we are underrepresented. 🧡 HISPANIC AFFAIRS PROJECT The Hispanic Affairs Project's mission is to promote the integration of immigrants in Western Colorado communities through leadership development, advocacy, and providing essential services. Their vision is for Western Colorado communities to be places where cultural diversity is celebrated and immigrants actively contribute to change for a more just and equitable society. 🧡 Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). 💭 Looking to take action with one of the nonprofits listed above? Easily save an organization to your Idealist.org profile to be notified when they're hiring!

Last week, as part of the all of the activity around #unga week in NYC and the #Concordia24 Summit sponsored by Libra Group, we at Idealist.org were lucky enough to host a wonderful group of youth from all over the world. Brought in by Libra Philanthropies, we had a mini-UN focused on #EmpoweringYouth right in our HQ! Thank you to Rosanna Mortoglou, Eva Soulia, Nikiforos Bouros, Mahlet Mesfin, Hanne LeCount for bringing this event to us, and to Matthew Chavez for all of the support. ☺️

I am excited to celebrate the success of Global Philanthropy Forum’s recent pop-up venue at Idealist.org during #UNGA and #ClimateWeek in #NYC. GPF gathered over 350 leaders from diverse sectors for meaningful discussions and collaborations, forging valuable partnerships with organizations like African Philanthropy Forum, Climate Breakthrough, Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, Libra Philanthropies, IDinsight, B Lab, Forum for the Future, and Project Drawdown. These efforts underscore our commitment to making #philanthropy fit for purpose in the 21st century. Together, we are driving meaningful change and I can’t wait to see what GPF will achieve next!
