A big thank you to the The Wall Street Journal for inviting Hyliion to the “Innovative Pathways to a Low-Carbon Future” panel hosted at the NYC's Journal House last week. Our SVP of Government Affairs, Bobby Cherian, represented Hyliion and our groundbreaking, fuel-agnostic #KARNO generator. Joined by Tucker Perkins, CEO of the Propane Education & Research Council, and Jennifer Holmgren, Chairman and CEO of LanzaTech, the panel discussed clean-burning alternative fuels, breakthroughs in renewable propane, and collaborative pathways to achieving net zero. The conversation, hosted by Raakhee Mirchandani from The Trust, WSJ | Barron’s Group, highlighted the power of innovation in shaping a sustainable, low-carbon future. #Sustainability #CleanEnergy Photo by Clifton Prescod for the Wall Street Journal

Our #KARNO linear generator is now eligible under California’s RPS following the passage of Assembly Bill 1921, signed by CA Governor Gavin Newsom. We’re excited to help the state achieve its goal of 60% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% carbon-free electricity by 2045. Proud to be part of this clean energy journey. “We believe the KARNO technology holds tremendous potential to deliver clean, efficient power generation urgently needed in today’s growing energy markets,” said Thomas Healy, Founder and CEO of Hyliion. “California is leading the way in green initiatives, and we are excited to support their energy goals through our cutting-edge technology, helping to create a more sustainable and resilient energy future.” Learn more: bwnews.pr/4eqfFCL #CleanEnergy #LinearGenerator

I had the pleasure of speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative, where we discussed taking action to accelerate solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. The conference emphasized a major concern: we are not acting fast enough to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. One of the key areas of focus was Electric Vehicles (EVs), and I had the privilege of speaking alongside industry leaders from General Motors, Polestar, InterEnergy and even Bill Nye the Science Guy. While EVs are the future of transportation, there was a shared sense of disappointment regarding the rate of progress. The conversation has shifted from early adopters to the challenge of scaling both EVs and the infrastructure needed to support widespread use. Key issues raised included the high number of out-of-service charging stations and the lack of a universal charging standard. We even heard stories of the practical challenges, like how a Tesla Supercharger’s charging cable can’t reach the charging port so some vehicles need to park sideways across three spots in order to get a charge! However, we also heard from Bill Nye about his experience with his EV1 in the late 90’s. He shared that the vehicle barely had 50 miles of range and if it was cold or you needed to drive up a few hills, that number would be significantly less and at that time, and no charging infrastructure existed. Needless to say, we’ve come a long way over the last 25 years of electric vehicle adoption, but we still have a long way to go! At Hyliion we look forward to enabling onsite power generation at EV charging sites with a ‘future-proofed’ solution that can run on various fuels.
