AI Will Change Everything- in Global Health and beyond… I had the honor to moderate the CES Digital health Session: "Medicine with Borders: Global Health and AI” We began the session with an engaging question for the audience and shared a real-life story of how global health impacts us all. Pascale Witz discussed the critical role of technology and AI in enabling personalized medicine. She highlighted how the need for access to the patient’s medical history, AI-enabled analytics, interoperability, and privacy protection all deliver value and improve global health. Bettina Experton showcased her pioneering work done for the DoD and shared how her team leverages the Humetrix ETL and analytics platform. She then used real world examples to discuss the importance of how cross-border data exchange and analysis can aid in pandemic monitoring and response. The highlight of the session was the presentation of the Humetrix breakthrough innovation that illustrated a compelling edge AI solution that eliminates the barriers of language to facilitate communication, and promote true understanding -at the time of greatest need - between health care professionals and patients anywhere in the world. Pascale Witz further highlighted how the AI solution could be used to facilitate faster and more effective decentralized clinical trials ultimately delivering life-saving therapy and treatments to patients in need around the world. Our engaged audience rounded out the session with a robust Q&A discussion that kept the energy high and made for a dynamic and memorable experience that highlighted the potential of AI to improve global health for everyone. It was also an unexpected stroke of serendipity to connect with my partner in innovation Matt Goldman - I’m sure eureka will strike again!
