Meet Bandit! Bandit was found on the side of the road by Damien and brought to the shelter emaciated and injured. Our staff provided the medical care and love that Bandit needed to regain his health. Over a one-month period, Bandit healed and gained nearly 20 pounds! Today we are in the middle of #GiveBIG and animal lovers around the state are stepping up to make a difference for pets in need. Thanks to generous support from donors like you, we were able to provide the care Bandit needed. Today Bandit lives with Damien and his loving family. Your support makes this work possible! If you are able, please give today at https://lnkd.in/gZGGcPT8 and if you can't give today, consider sharing this post to spread #ThatGivingFeeling.

Today is, "National ‘Pet Care for All’ Day". Today the Humane Society of Cowlitz County acknowledges the efforts of organizations in Washington to provide all pets and their owners with high-quality behavioral and health services. We believe that everyone, no matter where they live, their financial status, or cultural background, should have the opportunity to experience the joy and companionship of a pet. However, accessing veterinary care has become more challenging, resulting in one in three pets going without regular veterinary care and many guardians being left with no choice but to surrender their beloved companions to an animal shelter. In response to these barriers, animal welfare organizations across the state are advocating for policy changes in Washington that will increase access to veterinary services through telemedicine. We are convinced that, with appropriate safeguards in place, expanding telemedicine by allowing for a Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) through virtual means can significantly improve animals' well-being and will help keep pets and their owners together. We invite you to join us in advocating for legislative changes in Washington to expand telemedicine in veterinary care. This is not just a campaign but a pledge to strengthen the bond between pets and their families. Take Action Now: 1. Educate yourself about the proposed telemedicine policy changes and their impact. 2. Spread the word with your friends, family, and social media. 3. Contact your local representatives and express your support for the Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) via telemedicine. 4. Encourage the Washington Board of Governors to use their power to increase access to vet care by visiting aspca.org/WAvets. Your involvement can make a world of difference. Let’s ensure that no pet is left behind due to lack of access to care. Together, we can keep families whole and make compassionate care a reality for all. Act now and be the voice for our furry friends. #aspca #humanesociety #seattlehumane #spokanehumane #pasadossafehaven #spokanimal #hsvma #wenatcheehumane #paws #adoptashelterpet #motleyzoo #shelterpets
