Today, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released documents related to its investigation of last year's FAFSA rollout. While the GAO reports outline the behind-the-scenes bureaucratic failures, our own deep dive into what students are saying put the human effect of these failures into focus. In short and unsurprisingly, students are telling us the FAFSA missteps had real impacts on their college search and decision process. And these impacts were not felt equally. #GAO #FAFSA #AdmittedStudentReview #ASR #surveyresearch #surveys

Excited to be mentioned on the latest episode of the Higher Ed Marketing Lab podcast! Laurie Koehler outlines the four factors that we feel drive enrollment: - pricing - cost structure and cost structure management - market development - with regard to both admissions and the institution as a whole - product - campus facilities, curriculum offerings, pedagogies, residential life and campus culture, etc. The entire podcast is well worth a listen!
VPs of Enrollment have one of the toughest jobs on campus. Constant pressure to drive tuition revenue, high staff turnover, navigating direct admissions, FAFSA, and more. In our latest episode, I sit down with veteran enrollment leader, Laurie Koehler, to discuss where and how the practice of enrollment management needs to evolve. We explore: -Why enrollment strategy can't be separated from institutional strategy -The four factors that actually drive enrollment -Five ways to improve how we attract, development, and retain the next generation of enrollment managers -Why it's time to stop talking about discount rate. Whether you’re in the enrollment manager’s office or work with folks who are, you won’t want to miss this episode. https://lnkd.in/em3K7dvc

As we enter a new school year, we reflect on this past year. Of the more than 100,000 high school graduates we surveyed in our 2024 Admitted Student Review this summer, about 6% indicated that they are not attending college in the fall - up from 2% the previous year. 50% of those not enrolling said that they cannot afford college at this time. #backtoschool #highered #AdmittedStudentReview #surveyresearch #FAFSA #affordability #enrollment
