Research from the Rock Health Summit this week! "Investing in the Future" looks at the landscape of digital innovations in youth mental health. The report describes what's happening with the big increase in early stage youth mental health startups - from 15% of investment dollars in digital behavioral health in 2018 to 34% in 2023 - and provides design and business principles for both innovators and investors, including how and why to design with young people. Hopelab (Erin Sietstra and Lionel Ramazzini pictured) was excited to partner with Rock Health, Fiore Ventures, Pivotal Ventures, and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation on this research. CEO @ Riseapps | I help build digital health solutions for medical practices, hospitals, and clinics to avoid paper-based work, book new patients & ditch hefty monthly costs. Trusted by Fortune-500 & Fortune-100 orgs.
Mental health tech takes the spotlight at Rock Health Summit 2024 — And there’s a big reason behind it: No doubt, demand is sparking the discussion. Here’s the twist: while we all know big names like BetterHelp, Talkspace, Calm — the future of mental health tech lies in emerging solutions. From my experience with a mental health app for Amen Clinics, Inc., I know there’s a lot to unpack — from data-driven insights to mental health delivery workflows. That’s why I’m thrilled to gain insights from these innovators: → Solome Tibebu @ Behavioral Health Tech: A platform advancing mental health technology innovation. → Ashley Edwards @ MindRight Health: On-demand messaging-based mental health coaching. → Josh Golomb @ Hazel Health: Telehealth and mental health services for K-12 school students. → Kristina Saffran @ Equip: Virtual eating disorder treatment with a family-based approach. → Erin Sietstra @ Hopelab: Investments and innovations for youth mental health solutions. And while I second-guess the session content — Here’s my take on some game-changers in the field: → AI will make more waves in diagnostics than mental health treatment. → RPM won’t hit the mark without next-level personalization. → VR in mental health is picking up speed. → Interactivity/gamification in mental health are about to evolve big time. Agree or disagree? Leave a comment! ↓ Ashlee Wisdom, MPH Nicoletta “Nicki” Tessler, Psy.D., M.B.A. David Covell Obi Felten Erik Cardenas Shrenik Jain Chris Hogg Priyanka Vachhani Raquel R.
