Project Spotlight: Ala Moana Center Restroom Graphics Install   Ala Moana Center – the world’s largest open-air shopping center, with more than 350 shops and restaurants to explore, including multiple department stores, first-class boutiques and over 160 dining options.   Our good friends at AHL brought us in to collaborate and assist them and Swinerton Hawaii with part of their renovation project for Ala Moana Center. As part of this project, they renovated all the restrooms. We supported them by installing all new graphics and artwork throughout the mall's facilities. It started with AHL’s concept drawings. After several meetings, we presented different material solutions that best fit each space.   The end solution was a combination of 3M vinyl and laminates for the walls, ½” birch plywood was routed and clear coated for the wooden wall panels, and a combination of PVC and acrylic for the dimensional signage. HB Project Spotlight: UH’s Walter Dods, Jr. RISE Center Interior Graphics - In 2023, the Walter Dods, Jr. RISE Center opened at the former Atherton YMCA site, a $77 million project featuring a six-story innovation hub with 374 student housing beds. The Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE) at the Shidler College of Business expanded into the 114,000-square-foot complex and offers an innovation floor with co-working areas, meeting rooms, classrooms, a recording studio, and prototyping labs.   In collaboration with our good friends at AHL, we assisted them in bringing their vision to life for PACE at the new RISE Center at UH. We brought our clients for a tour of HONBLUE and went over various substrates and methods that would allow us to fabricate and produce their concept in-house. The final product exceeded expectations, and our clients were thrilled with the results. #wallgraphics #interiorgraphics #vibe #RISE #UH #HONBLUE #alwayswithAloha   

HB Project Spotlight: OUTRIGGER X Cirque du Soleil Barricade and Kiosk Wraps  OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel is bringing Cirque du Soleil to Hawaii with performances beginning late 2024. A new dawn of live entertainment rises in 'Auana by Cirque du Soleil – a Hawai'i-inspired production featuring a cast of powerful acrobats, hilarious comedians, talented musicians and singers, and profound hula dancers. “When we were planning one of the most important press conferences in our company’s over 75 year history, we needed every single element to be perfect. The announcement of Cirque du Soleil’s first resident production show in Hawai‘i opening at the OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel is not just monumental for OUTRIGGER, but for the state of Hawai‘i as a whole. Our vision was to have our entire porte cochere and walls along Kalākaua Avenue to be branded with the graphics and name of the new show entitled, ‘Auana’ for the event. HONBLUE was the only print vendor we trusted to ensure this was executed flawlessly. HB Project Spotlight: Civil Beat Plaza Outdoor Mural: Lei Ki    In continuation from our last Project Spotlight, we have another job to showcase at Civil Beat Plaza. Nestled between Koko Head Avenue and Wilhelmina Rise, Civil Beat Plaza is a four-story office building at 3650 Waialae. The building was named after Honolulu Civil Beat, in recognition of the local non-profit newsroom’s dedication to investigative journalism.     Civil Beat Plaza commissioned talented local artists to create artwork for the exterior of the building. The building’s management team knew we did 3M vinyl wrapping on vehicles and other large format applications, so they approached us to help install a large three-story mural on the exterior of the building. Our client provided us with a high-resolution scanned image of the final artwork, we had a few meetings to discuss the process, and did some print testing including a full-size proof to ensure the job would meet our client’s expectations before the actual installation. The mural was printed on our special texture 3M vinyl and laminate made for uneven surfaces.  Painted by local artist Laetitia Kukui Mahoney of 808 Urban, Lei Ki is a large-scale mural located on the side wall facing Ewa of the building and illustrates a ti leaf lei, woven in the Hilo-style of twist, spin, and braid and tells the story of the deep ties that connect us to the people, businesses, history, and stories of Kaimuki.    See the magnificent mural for yourself and perhaps these photos will spark inspiration for your next large-format project. #kaimuki #mural #supportlocalartists #3M #808Urban #honblue #alwayswithAloha

Their client, Honolulu Civil Beat moved into their new location at 3650 Waialae and needed interior graphics for their office space.    Nestled between Koko Head Avenue and Wilhelmina Rise, Civil Beat Plaza is a four-story office building at 3650 Waialae. The building was named after Honolulu Civil Beat, in recognition of the local non-profit newsroom’s dedication to investigative journalism.    HONBLUE assisted Wall to Wall with identifying the right materials for the office space and backed by our 3M certifications for manufacturing and graphics installation, we printed and installed branded wall-covering for their office space.
