Helping people experiencing or at risk of homelessness by building safe and dignified housing, and providing resources
About us
HomeAid Orange County's mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education. HomeAid Orange County is the founding affiliate of the national nonprofit organization, HomeAid. Today, there are 19 HomeAid affiliates across America working to improve and expand housing and resource for people experiencing homelessness. In 1989, HomeAid Orange County was founded by the Building Industry Association of Southern California, Orange County Chapter.HomeAid primarily constructs housing for nonprofit service providers and public entities that serve people experiencing homelessness. The unique HomeAid model, centered around in-kind donations of labor and materials from building industry partners, saves a significant cost on each HomeAid-built housing project.

There is so much that children need to grow up healthy and strong, but just how many children are there in the U.S. that do not have access to basic stable shelter? Through 2021-2022 in the United States, over 1.2 million children were experiencing homelessness (living in a shelter or unsheltered location such as a car) or living in overcrowded conditions (National Center for Homeless Education). Families are our future, yet an increased cost of living and lack of affordable houses is causing many to experience homelessness or overcrowded living conditions.

A tremendous thank you to our friends at Citizens Business Bank for your generous $15,000 grant award! These funds will help us develop critically needed housing for families and senior citizens experiencing homelessness. HomeAid's work to end homelessness through housing would be impossible without your partnership and engagement in our mission!

There's more ways than one to help HomeAid bring assistance to people experiencing homelessness. Today we thank our friend Richard (Rick) Adams, who’s been generous enough to let us use his truck to help transport materials. Thanks to him, we can move more CareKits to be assembled and distributed, and we are able to move more event materials in less time. One of our dreams is to one day have our own cargo van, but until then, every bit of help and volunteerism counts. Thank you so much, Rick!

We recently received a generous $40,000 #CommunityPossible grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation, which will help HomeAid develop more affordable housing options for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
