About us
Located in the North Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago, Holy Family Ministries is a not-for-profit organization operating four programs: (1) Holy Family School (K-8, faith based); (2) Little Learners pre-school and childcare program; (3) Adventures in Learning after-school and summer program; (4) The Peace Exchange youth nonviolence training program. Families pay a fee based on income, approximately 25% of the full cost. Programs are offered “first-come, first-served” without regard to religion, race, previous academic achievement, or ethnicity.

Last Sunday our CEO Cheryl Collins & CDO Laura Valentino attended services at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Glen Ellyn for their annual Backpack Blessing, where members of the congregation donated backpacks and school supplies to the students of HFS. Our scholars are starting another year off strong thanks to this generous 10-year tradition!

Today we wrapped up Staff Institute Week with a truly enriching tour of our community led by NLHCS through various North Lawndale landmarks including Farm on Ogden, Stone Temple Baptist Church, and the African Heritage Garden. Today not only strengthened our community bonds but also deepened our understanding of our roots here at Holy Family. Thank you to everyone who made this week memorable— see you on Monday students! 🌟
