Born more than three months premature and weighing just over 1 lb., Jay Nova Sanchez defied the odds. Spending 133 days in Hoag’s Level IIIa Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Newport Beach, he was surrounded by a team of compassionate experts who provided dedicated care every step of the way. Hoag Digestive Health Institute is excited to welcome Jennifer Phan, M.D., as medical director of the Hoag Irvine Advanced Endoscopy Center! Dr. Phan, a board-certified gastroenterologist, brings extensive expertise in endoscopy, bariatrics, and pancreaticobiliary diseases. Dr. Phan has also been named director of Bariatric Endoscopy and program director of Hoag’s Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship. Her special interests include the endoscopic management of obesity, diabetes, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
