Zero-cost inventory management systems are beneficial for pipeline owner-operators needing a repair quickly. In this case, an owner-operator faced a critical situation on a 10-inch diameter carbon steel X-60 pipe. Initial in-line inspections indicated a possible anomaly. After excavation, it was revealed that there was additional corrosion damage at 70% wall loss that warranted immediate repair. This was not the damage they were expecting to find. Traditionally, this unforeseen change would require additional materials to be shipped in, causing delays and increasing operation costs. However, the operator was able to complete same-day repairs due to the readily accessible inventory located only 10 miles away. By finding ways to manage inventories better, operators can streamline operations, reduce costs, and minimize downtime typically associated with repairs. We are excited to share a success story in structural engineering! A specialty manufacturing company was moving to a new location inside of an old office building. They own and operate very heavy and dynamic equipment utilized in their production process. Last-minute engineering analysis showed the existing slab was too weak to handle the new dead and live load. We are excited to share our success in the food processing industry! A 40-year-old evaporator vessel had cracks and corrosion issues, mainly around sight-glass welds, leading to steam leakage. A major processing plant's dual heat exchanger system, crucial for cooling water supply, suffered fractures and cracks in its cast iron chiller heads due to freezing.
