About us
We put women at the center of our care and guide them during every step of their recovery. At Hitchcock Center for Women in Cleveland’s Hough-Glenville neighborhood, we help women break the cycle of substance abuse in a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment that promotes healing. Our care team recognizes that addiction affects women differently than men and that trauma, abuse, and mental health issues often accompany their addiction or are the root cause of it. Women also face different challenges when trying to get the help they desperately need. Mothers battling addiction shouldn’t have to choose between getting treatment and taking care of their children. We are one of the only residential treatment centers in the region where a woman can stay with her children (up to age 12) while she is receiving treatment. This unique accommodation helps keep families together and prevents additional trauma from separation.

Today, we say a bittersweet goodbye to our amazing residential counselor, Maria. Maria has worked at Hitchcock for over 19 years. It is here at Hitchcock where she herself found sobriety many many years ago. Maria truly embodies the mission of Hitchcock Center for Women. Her positivity, empathy and dedication to our cause make her an amazing counselor and cherished friend. Thank you for your extraordinary service and for touching so many lives. We wish you nothing but the very best on your new journey.

✨Project Update: Hitchcock Center for Women ✨ Since breaking ground in late June, our Design/Build Group has made remarkable strides at the Hitchcock Center for Women project site! 💪🏗️ Key Milestones: ✅ Demolition Complete: The non-historic single-story structure has been successfully cleared. ✅ Foundation in Place: The new building pad and concrete footings for the Supportive Housing & Residential Treatment Center are set. ✅ Masonry Progress: Foundation walls for the Supportive Housing section are complete, with the Residential Treatment Center following closely behind. ✅ Utilities Installation: Underground rough-ins for plumbing, electrical, and site utilities are nearing completion.
