    The Energy Industry Talent Landscape According to GETI 2023 We’re here to summarize the 2023 Global Energy Talent Index (GETI) report, which highlights significant changes in the energy industry. Surging energy prices and shortages have boosted oil and gas pay and profit, accelerating the transition to renewable energy and returning salaries to pre-pandemic levels. In the results of their annual survey of 10,000 energy professionals, we found a growing desire for jobs that provide personal fulfillment, indicating deeper career aspirations beyond financial gain. Job satisfaction is increasing, reducing workplace restlessness, but rising supply chain costs are worsening the industry's skills shortage. ❓ Which industry is the preferred option for energy professionals? According to the report, rising gas prices have made Oil and Gas the top choice for energy workers seeking new careers. The crisis has boosted sector pay, with 44% of workers receiving raises last year, and two-thirds anticipate more salary hikes in the next year. ❓ How does inflation affect the petrochemical industry? The petrochemical sector has faced the most significant challenges due to higher supply chain costs, resulting in severe skill shortages. 71% of employees have experienced supply chain cost disruptions, with 44% stating that these disruptions have hindered hiring and talent retention. ❓ Which industry competes most intensely for talent? The nuclear sector tops the list in the energy industry, with 83% of nuclear workers being actively recruited in the past year. 19% of them reported receiving 11 or more job offers, the highest among all sectors. Nuclear professionals are twice as likely as their counterparts in oil, gas, and petrochemicals to be pursued by companies from other industries. ❓ Why are renewable energy workers considering a switch to the oil and gas industry? The GETI report shows that increasing fossil fuel prices are luring talent away from renewables, potentially impeding the energy transition. An astounding 87% are open to leaving their current roles, with 51% considering a move to the oil and gas sector, marking a 14% increase from last year. ❓ What's behind the power sector's salary growth? Increased investments in grid infrastructure have boosted power workers' salaries, returning them to pre-pandemic levels in 2022. According to the report, 50% of power employees received pay raises, while only 6% experienced pay cuts last year, compared to 16% two years ago. These important statistics highlight the employment trends and talent landscape in the energy sector.
