✨ Research Share ✨ Did you know our Founder & CEO, Alyssa Ravasio, once collected feedback from campers outside her local REI store? Research at Hipcamp has come a long way since then, and today we’re excited to share a snippet from our latest research, all about RV campers. RVers are a growing audience of outdoor enthusiasts as well as a diverse group of campers, driving vehicles ranging from modified campervans to 45-feet motorhomes. We needed a segmentation of our RV audience to better target creative marketing material that speaks to the different types of campgrounds that appeal to RVers and allow us to better personalize product features for their specific needs. Creating segmentations is a long and complex process, and as a small team, we don’t have the necessary resources to dedicate months to segmentation using traditional methods. By partnering with Outset, an AI-moderated research platform, we captured 200+ in-depth interviews with real RV campers in just 1 week. From the research, we learned valuable insights like which campground amenities appeal more to certain segments. Without this AI tool, we might not have been able to conduct this research, and if we did, it would have likely taken an entire quarter for our team to complete. Planetary alignment 🪐 A rare planetary will occur just before sunrise on June 3. During this solar spectacle, the orbits of Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus, Mars, Neptune and Saturn will bring the six planets to the same side of the sun. Don’t miss it! June 6. A new moon 🌑 Moonless nights are perfect for stargazing from any dark sky campsite. We’ve heard some chatter about potential aurora viewings around the new moon. This will be a surprise if it happens. June 7. Arietids meteor shower ☄️ Arietids meteor shower peaks! It’s best seen in the early hours of the morning before sunrise. You can expect to see 60 to 200 meteors per hour from a dark sky campsite. June 21. Full moon 🌕🍓 The full moon this month is affectionately known the Strawberry moon.
