We know — let's be real, nearly everyone knows — that child care is a top struggle for working parents, whether it’s finding a regular child care provider, backup care, or other support. The recent U.S. Surgeon General advisory highlights how chronic stress from rising child care costs and lack of access is significantly impacting working parents, directly impacting their productivity and absenteeism from work. And so: Cleo is thrilled to announce our brand-new partnership with TOOTRiS, the only platform purpose-built to support employer-sponsored child care benefits. 🎉 Cleo selected TOOTRiS as a partner after extensive research and conversations with our current customers about their existing child care and backup care benefits. The fact is that many child care providers don't actually fulfill their purpose as a practical support for both employees and employers. TOOTRiS, on the other hand, has a myriad of advantages over other child care benefits. Read our post to learn what those are 👇

Know anyone with a chronic condition? Most of us do, and most of us know that chronic conditions can severely affect how we show up at work and at home. Cleo's own Rupa Patel will be shedding light on how to address chronic conditions and population health in women at the DFW BUSINESS GROUP ON HEALTH on Oct 17 -- Be sure to register below 👇
Chronic conditions effect us all — acutely in a clinical setting, tactically with our benefits, and long-term with our caregiving requirements and needs. Thrilled to sit alongside Nancy Bell, Ryan Alcantar, and Dr. Greeshma Naini at DFW BUSINESS GROUP ON HEALTH’s Women’s Health Symposium on October 17th as we host a session on addressing population health and chronic condition management in women. Did you know that Cleo offers cancer care support? 💡 One in two employers say cancer is the number one driver of healthcare costs, and 86% say it’s among their top three. Cancer can upend employees’ entire lives. The complexities and disjointed threads of everything along the cancer journey — from prevention and screening to diagnosis to treatment, remission, and monitoring, to keeping up with life responsibilities such as career and caregiving, to the emotional toll throughout all of this — can leave employees and their families confused and unclear where to turn. With Cleo, members have that place to turn. Our cancer care experts and support can connect the dots along the cancer care journey while holding all of a member’s needs holistically to offer personalized, cohesive care. Learn more here:

This is one of the best summaries of the connection between mental health and caregiving that we've seen: "While focusing on stress reduction in the workplace may seem to be a logical strategy for addressing the problem, programs designed to directly affect stress levels have had mixed results. However, targeting a key source of stress for working parents — child care precarity, the state of unreliable and insecure child care — will have a real impact." It's #NICUAwarenessMonth. How many of you know someone who has had an NICU experience? 🙋♂️ We stand by NICU families every day, whether they're preparing for a known NICU stay or navigating the challenges of an unexpected one. A recent third-party observational study revealed that only 13.1% of Cleo-supported birthing families required NICU care, compared to 19.4% of non-Cleo families. Additionally, Cleo families who did have a NICU stay experienced an average stay of just 3.1 days — significantly shorter than the 7.6-day average for non-Cleo families. Fewer NICU admissions and shorter stays not only eases the burden on families, of course, but also deliver significant cost savings for employers. Yet another win/win for supporting parents, caregivers, and families.💡

Let's talk about how the Sandwich Generation has (at least) three jobs. Because of their sky-high anxiety levels, employees in the #SandwichGeneration place a huge amount of value in certain benefits—much more than other kinds of workers. While 20% of non-caregiving employees find childcare and caregiving support “extremely valuable,” that number rises to 58% for the sandwich folks. 🥪 When you have 3 jobs as a parent, caregiver, AND employee, support benefits become a NECESSITY.
A ‘sandwich generation’ of stressed out caregivers is looking for employers that offer these benefits
