A Picnic at Midnight The third shift isn't everyone’s first choice. The late hours aren't glamorous. But these heroes show up, save lives, and make a difference every day. To honor their dedication, St. Vincent’s Medical Center hosts an annual employee appreciation picnic for the third shift. They asked HHS to support and our teams were honored to serve! Our culinary, EVS, and transport teams, joined by our regional and national HHS leadership, served hot dogs, mac ‘n’ cheese, baked beans, and ice-cold drinks to 300 staff members from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am. A warm meal doesn’t say everything we feel for these heroes, but it’s a start. Thank you to all of the doctors, nurses, dietitians, clinicians, and all of the heroes who dedicate their lives to healing others. National Peach Month isn’t over yet! Celebrate with this delicious grilled peach salad. Grilling the peaches really brings out the sweetness (and with no added sugar).
