Meet Kenny! 🎨🏞️ By participating in self-direction, he's been able to pursue his passions and goals like never before. With staff support, he's become more independent at home, active with regular exercise and conscious of his wellbeing. Kenny has also tapped into his artistic talents by diving into oil painting and has recently started sculpting. 🖌️ He’s showcased his work in art shows and already sold some pieces! But that's not all—Kenny's newfound love for nature has led him to hike and travel to places like Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas and Chautauqua Lake with his staff. 🏖️ Before, travel wasn’t a big part of his life, but now he's soaking in museums, parks, and trails, living a life full of adventure and creativity. #SelfDirection #Happiness #HeritageChristianServices

This month, we’re thrilled to spotlight the dynamic and dazzling behavior team! 🤩 The team is comprised of 11 behavior intervention specialists with diverse backgrounds in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, special education and more. Altogether, the team boasts a collective 85 years of experience! While each team member works independently, they thrive on collaboration, sharing ideas and helping one another. Their evidence-based behavior plans are designed to support people through every challenge, and they're always ready to assist one another during tough situations. 🤝 The team is also committed to promoting our agency's values and is actively involved in the inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA), Spirit and camp committees, Safe Zone and mindfulness training, Wellness Wednesdays and more. “We love to learn, are compassionate, dedicated… consistently go above and beyond and strive daily to carry out the mission and values of HCS,” said Stephanie Prunoske, director of behavior services.
