Welcome! ❤️🎁 Little Melodi and her mom, Alma, traveled more than 1,000 miles from Tegulcigalpa, Honduras to the US to start her miraculous HeartGift medical journey. The two-and-a-half-year-old was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a combination of four defects in her tiny heart, when she was 18 months old. Unfortunately, the necessary surgery is not available in her home country so HeartGift stepped in. While in the US, the pair will stay with host family Mirna and Guillermo Padilla. The Padillas are both originally from Honduras and speak Spanish, and will make Melodi and her mom feel right at home during their 4 – 6-week stay. #CHD #CHDkids #tinytickers #heartgift #savinglives #nonprofit #zipperclub #childrenshospital #savingkids #healthcare #healthyheart #healthcareheroes #honduras

Hey San Antonio friends...today is Giving Day for HeartGift San Antonio! Our goal is to raise enough money in 24 hours to save the life of a child - like Matias from Honduras! In 2024, he received his newly mended heart from HeartGift right here in San Antonio at University Health. He had a hole between the lower chambers of his heart and the necessary surgical treatment was not available in his home country. So Heartgift stepped in! Your gift in any amount will help us reach our goal and help more HeartGift children – like Matias. And, we have a very generous donor willing to match today’s funds up to $25,000! Donate now! heartgift.org/donate

A touching moment between mom and Minjee before she heads to the operating room for her life saving open-heart surgery. Unfortunately, the necessary treatment was not available in her home country of Mongolia, so HeartGift stepped in. We love helping special children like Minjee find her lifetime of hope and opportunity. ❤️🎁 #CHD #CHDkids #tinytickers #heartgift #savinglives #nonprofit #zipperclub #childrenshospital #savingkids #healthcare #healthyheart #healthcareheroes #mongolia

No matter the country or language, kids like motorcycles and monster trucks! After receiving his HeartGift surgery, three-year-old Leonard from Uganda has been recuperating and spending time with host family Todd and Nina Dean, and their family. HeartGift saved the lives of 332 children last year...each one needing just one, single life-saving surgical treatment to correct their heart defect. And, even cooler, we’re on track to save the lives of 500 MORE by the end of 2024!! Those aren’t just numbers. That data translates into more bikes ridden, more soccer balls kicked, more trips down the slide, more graduations, more birthdays...well, you get the picture. For the past 24 years, HeartGift has given more than 1,300 children a life of opportunity through the gift of just one surgery - all at no cost to their families. We’re so humbled to be a part of their journey. 📸 Cheyenne | Age 2, Haiti | Life saved in 2024 #CHD #CHDkids #tinytickers #heartgift #savinglives #nonprofit #zipperclub #childrenshospital #savingkids #healthcare #healthyheart #healthcareheroes

Leonard is now a proud member of the “Zipper Club.” The three-year-old from Uganda had four defects in his tiny heart fixed during open-heart surgery. Before surgery, he was living a life of chronic illness and not able to run and play. Almost immediately, he was feeling better eating, playing and laughing more. Keep up the great work, Leo! ❤️🎁 #CHD #CHDkids #tinytickers #heartgift #savinglives #nonprofit #zipperclub #childrenshospital #savingkids #healthcare #healthyheart #healthcareheroes #uganda

Happiest of birthdays, Dr. Karen Wright ! In addition to treating so many HeartGift children as a cardiologist, she has served as HeartGift’s Medical Director for the past 24 years, where she ensures the quality of medical care for our special children. She has personally had a hand in saving the lives of more than 1,300 children. Time to celebrate Dr. Wright for the smart, generous, and compassionate person she is for us and our special HeartGift children and families! ❤️🎁🥳🎂

Before open heart surgery, Minjee goes through a battery of pre-operative tests and exams. With the help of a Mongolian interpreter named Nora, hospital staff explained what to expect before and after surgery in detail. We’re so very appreciative of our talented and committed medical partners who spend so much time with our HeartGift children and their families. #CHD #CHDkids #tinytickers #heartgift #savinglives #nonprofit #zipperclub #childrenshospital #savingkids #healthcare #healthyheart #healthcareheroes #mongolia
