Orion W., Founder of BurnCam Medical, started his career as a mechanical engineer at RSI, where he developed advanced wound dressings to fight drug-resistant infections. Northeastern University Extreme Medicine (EM) program’s director Stephen Wood, guest Faculty John Hinds, and EM certificate student Matt Cherkerzian shared their expertise on altitude sickness, hemorrhage control, and hypothermia with high school juniors and seniors at the NU Pre-College Innovations in Healthcare program. Over 30 students were in attendance from all over the country (even one student came in from France!) where they participated in a “Survive a night on Mt. Washington” challenge, a navigation exercise, as well as hands-on experience in wilderness medical care! #NUDMS #NUExtremeMedicine
