HCA Florida Ocala Hospital was recognized with the Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus; Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll; and Target: Stroke Advanced Therapy Honor Roll award, recognizing the hospital for meeting specific criteria that reduce the time between a patient’s arrival and treatment to remove the clot causing the stroke. Next week HCA Florida West Marion Hospital will be recognized with the Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award. This week, we joined the Marion County Public Schools School Board Meeting as school board members and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Diane Gullett, recognized the numerous organizations that partnered together to prepare our students for the school year. It takes a village to support each child, and we are proud to be doing our part. This summer, HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital held their 2nd annual “We Show Up for Our Schools” school supply drive. As a team, we collected an assortment of nearly 2,500 school supplies to help our local students succeed in the classroom for the 2024-2025 school year! The team from "MISSION: Bus Brigade - Supply Their Success," an annual outreach program sponsored by Marion County Public Schools Homeless / Needy Children Program, picked up the supplies at our hospitals! This campaign affords local residents the opportunity to make a genuine difference in a homeless /needy child's life, by donating new school supplies, children's clothes, shoes, personal hygiene items, and financial contributions. The donated supplies are distributed to the counseling offices at each school to meet the needs of our students attending those schools. This keeps all donations local and makes distribution more efficient. Thank you to everyone who gave so graciously and generously to our school supply drive this year. In TV20′s new monthly interview series “HealthCares,” TV20′s Paige Beck sits down with doctors from HCA hospitals in North Central Florida. Beck spoke to Dr. Darwin Ang, the trauma medical director at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital.
