Each day across our larger HCA Healthcare network, emergency room (ER) nurses care for patients who are facing traumatic or severe, often life-threatening medical emergencies ranging from car accidents to strokes and heart attacks. Annually, HCA Healthcare hospitals see more than 9 million ER visits. ER nurses are trained to act decisively in critical situations, providing expert skill with compassion while reducing discomfort during each patient interaction. During Emergency Nurses Week, we celebrate and thank the essential emergency room nurses at HCA Florida University Hospital for their dedication to lifesaving, patient-centered care and community service. Thank you Davie Fire Rescue for stopping by to celebrate with us! #PositiveImpact #HCANursing #ERNursesWeek See Less

We are proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, a monthlong celebration from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 honoring the historical legacy and contributions of the Hispanic community. Meet Lianis, our Case Management Director! Lianis was born and raised on the beautiful island of Cuba, in the heart of the Caribbean. Growing up with very few resources, she learned early on the values of gratitude and resourcefulness. Basic necessities such as electricity, clean water, and school supplies are things she never takes for granted. Perseverance defines her journey. At the age of 15, Lianis arrived in Miami without knowing a word of English. Despite this challenge, she quickly adapted, translating household bills for her parents and later walking the halls of the University of Miami. She credits her accomplishments to the hard work and dedication of her parents, whose sacrifices paved the way for her success. #HispanicHeritage #HCAFloridaUniversityHospital

We are proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, a monthlong celebration from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 honoring the historical legacy and contributions of the Hispanic community. Meet Nino, our Pharmacy Director! Nino was born and raised in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico—fondly known as “La Sultana del Oeste” or “The Sultaness of the West.” According to legend, a beautiful woman with Arab features once captivated the hearts of everyone in the city. Mayagüez is a place of pride, renowned for many things: the University of Puerto Rico, celebrated for its excellence in engineering and agriculture; a once-thriving coffee industry that made Puerto Rican coffee world-famous; and the beloved brazo gitano, a delicate rolled cake. As a proud Puerto Rican, Nino cherishes the island’s rich cultural heritage, an intricate blend of Taíno, Spanish, and African traditions. This deep-rooted pride shines through in the music, art, traditions, festivals, and food. The beautiful island is home to a passionate, religious, festive, and persevering people. In September 2017, Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria. In its wake, Nino witnessed an incredible display of unity as her community came together to rebuild. Puerto Ricans living abroad also answered the call to help. Amidst the devastation, an unbreakable spirit filled the air—a spirit of hope, resilience, and determination. In those challenging times, Nino drew strength from her culture. They never give up. Even in the darkest moments, Puerto Ricans found light, rebuilding not only their homes but also their spirits. This collective strength became a testament to the pride she holds in being Puerto Rican. Hurricane Maria tested her country, but it also revealed to the world the essence of being Boricua—strong, resilient, and united. The memory of the storm will forever serve as a reminder of enduring strength and unwavering perseverance. #HispanicHeritage #HCAFloridaUniversityHospital
