Building a Boo-tiful new home doesn't have to be a scary thing 👻. Having the right contractor can help squash some of your fears. Here are some tips from Manchac Homes on how to find a contractor that's right for you.⁠ ⁠ 1️⃣ Contact the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors and verify your contractor's licensure status.⁠ 2️⃣ Review a copy of your contractor's current insurance policies. ⁠ 3️⃣ Ask for and contact your contractor's previous client references.⁠ 4️⃣ Beware of bids that contain "allowances." Allowances can be much lower than the actual price of the item(s) you want. Make sure your contractor shows you the bid that contains the items you want to use in your new home. (Ex: Appliances, countertops, cabinets)⁠ 5️⃣ Inquire as to how invoices are presented to you for payment. Congrats to Carroll Construction, winner of the HBA I GBR Photo Contest for Careers in Construction Day! 🏆️⁠ ⁠ In the photo, Bethanie Redmond is installing a cabinet pull that was missing the correct length of screws.⁠ ⁠ Bethanie started working at Carroll Construction three years ago as an Administrative Assistant. This year, she expressed a desire to be more active in the field.
